"I worked with Grace during the first half of my labor, as she filled in for my doula who was attending another birth at the time. Grace arrived at the perfect time - I was getting induced and had just received cytotec and a cook ballon to help open my cervix. I was in a lot of pain and was telling my husband that I wanted an epidural, even though I had originally planned on waiting longer. Just at that moment Grace arrived, my husband encouraged me to work with her for an hour and see how I feel before going for the epidural. 

 

Grace was very responsive. She had tons of ideas for positions and exercises that would help ease the pain and my labor progress. I ended up lasting several hours and at the next check in, I was 6 cm dialated! She kept me moving so I did not feel pain and helped my labor progress quickly and with great comfort. Even though we met for the first time that morning, she was incredibly friendly and built rapport with me and my husband right away.
